Hide and Seek with Damselflies

7.15.2012

At the Lake Calhoun Aquatennial it is traditional for people to both build and race milk-carton boats. It is also traditional for photographers to set up shop near the finish line (cameras at the ready) in case the boats tip or fall apart. But as fervently as I watched the boats, waiting for something to happen, I couldn’t help but feel like something was watching me. So I turned around and what did I see but this little damselfly peeking at me from behind a blade of grass. The tiny onlooker felt playful and cute with  it’s little two-fingered hands to it’s big, blue eyes.
