Jaffa, Israel – June 27, 2015 – Valentina Nurit, a folk singer from Argentina, let me wander around Jaffa with her as she looked for a spot to play. After running into another musician who let her borrow some sound equipment, she gave a beautiful performance for passersby. Jerusalem, Israel – June 30, 2015 – Shortly after being assigned my team for the documentary unit of the JFW, we were sent out to practice. While exploring Jerusalem, we came across an nearly-empty construction zone that extended many floors underground. As we descended lower and lower, we became increasingly cautious, borderline paranoid, from its cluttered, murky atmosphere, and our weakening sense of direction. Photo by Louis Fine.

Unknown, Israel – July 24, 2015 – For security, Israel has a mandatory draft for it’s military and soldiers are always walking around major cities carrying large rifles quite casually. Here, a soldier rests on a bus headed to Tel Aviv. Photo by Louis Fine.
